Kicking off the Good Training program

In order to "practice" running the floating Good Hotel, the city of Amsterdam offered a temporary mooring location. This is where the floating Good Hotel Amsterdam was moored in 2015 and 2016, as a pop-up. Four months before the hotel opening date, the first full-fledged Good Training program kicked off.

Good Training

Good Training is a innovative training program developed by the Good Group. In the areas around our hotels, we work with local authorities to identify individuals who have been in long-term unemployment and offer these people, regardless of background, a fresh start. All we ask is that they are motivated and willing to make a change.

A chance for a new future

At the start of 2015, Good Hotel invited the first group of 25 unemployed ‘Amsterdammers’ looking for a new chance. Over the course of 3 months, they were trained to be ready for a new future in hospitality. And for the opening op the Good Hotel Amsterdam.

The first contract

After the first three months of intensive training, the trainees are ready to take the next step. The Good Hotel Amsterdam opens and the trainees who completed the training program, all receive a job there. The goal is to work three months at the Good Hotel, before moving on to work with one of the partner hotels. Will Chavelli become the first trainee to get a contract with a five star hotel?

Towards a job - the move

The first group of Good Trainees have taken their next step: they are now working in their permanent job with one of our partners. They look back on their journey, and their new employers talk about their new-hires' potential.
